A giclée print is a high-quality art print made using archival pigment inks and fine art paper, designed to produce exceptional detail, colour accuracy, and long-term durability.
Giclée printing uses professional inkjet printers that spray microscopic droplets of pigment ink onto heavyweight paper, resulting in smoother gradients, sharper detail, and greater longevity than standard poster printing.
Compared to mass-produced art prints, giclée prints are created to museum standards and are designed to resist fading for decades when displayed correctly. You can read more about our printing standards on our limited edition art prints page.
When displayed away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity, giclée prints are designed to maintain their appearance for many years.
The frame size should always match the print size. This applies whether you are framing a photograph, illustration, or fine art print.
For example:
• An A3 print fits an A3 frame
• An A2 print fits an A2 frame
• An A1 print fits an A1 frame
All framed prints are sized correctly for you, so no additional measuring or adjustments are needed.
A-size frames follow the ISO 216 paper standard, which is used across the UK and Europe.
Standard dimensions are:
• A5: 14.8 × 21 cm
• A4: 21 × 29.7 cm
• A3: 29.7 × 42 cm
• A2: 42 × 59.4 cm
• A1: 59.4 × 84.1 cm
All frame sizes are based on these standard measurements, ensuring compatibility with A-size art prints and mounts.
A mount is optional and comes down to personal preference and room style.
Mounts create space between the artwork and the frame, giving the print a more considered, gallery-style finish and helping the artwork stand out on the wall. Unmounted prints offer a cleaner, more minimal look.
Prints are wrapped in acid-free tissue and packed in sturdy tubes or flat packaging to protect them in transit. Framed prints are cushioned with corner protectors, wrapped in protective film, and boxed securely to prevent damage. Our damage rate is extremely low thanks to this process.
Our limited edition prints are numbered as part of a defined edition size and are supplied with a digital certificate of authenticity.
Each certificate confirms the artwork title, edition size, and individual print number, providing clear proof of authenticity and rarity. This ensures every limited edition print can be independently verified without the need for a physical signature on the artwork itself.
The easiest way to hang a picture is with our framed prints, which arrive ready to hang with secure fittings already attached. Unframed prints can be framed locally or mounted using your preferred method. Handle prints carefully to avoid damage during framing. This approach works for most wall art and framed prints, regardless of size.
Keep your artwork out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. Always handle prints with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves, as fingerprints can leave permanent marks on photo paper. Dust frames with a soft, dry cloth and avoid using chemical cleaners on glass or acrylic glazing.
